Håkan Bremberg lives and works in Tomelilla, Sweden. The majority of his paintings are inspired by the Swedish nature.

Håkan has been painting for more than 40 years. Born and raised in the small community of Holmsund, northern Sweden, he was encouraged in his art by his parents. Bremberg attended a few art courses but since then he has been studying the art of oil painting on his own for years and has been soaking up influences of the Swedish painter Anders Zorn as well as the American artist Morten E. Solberg among others. He also attended a four year academic art education.

For many years Håkan worked as a teacher but the art was always present in some form. At the age of 29 he moved to Skövde, where he took time for an amazing diversity of experiences and careers, from teaching drug addicts to running a gym to constructing weight training equipments to working at a museum to designing home pages. In 1996 he and his wife Lisbeth decided to show their works to the public. This lead to more than 100 exhibitions around Sweden and numerous paintings by him sold to admirers in many countries, from Germany to China.

In May 1997 Bremberg put a website online and thus opened a major gallery with 24 opening hours every day. From that day on collectors and admirers were able to view his works without sending for slides or brochures and without having to travel to Sweden.

Today Håkan continues his journey through the world of art searching for the perfection like every serious artist has been doing throughout history.

From inside of me

 Always is never never

Remember backwards – think forwards

Hate makes no joy

Fear houses no adventures

Without effort dreams remain dreams

No leads nowhere

New love cures unhappy love

 STATEMENT

Art hits your eyes and make an impression to your brain, thus resulting in a feeling.

This feeling is individual to millions of us.

So I can not predict the nature of this. What I can do is to paint in a way that pleases me and hope that the artwork gives a similar reaction to others.
