At the start of her career Eija-Liisa Löyttyniemi studied at Finnish Academy of Fine Arts. Since then she has participated in numerous Finnish exhibitions. She has also regularly held private exhibitions in her home country. Private showings of her work have been held in Sweden and Italy and her paintings have been acquired by many public collections. Löyttyniemi is a member of the Finnish Painters Union. Since the 1970’s Löyttyniemi has concentrated on oil painting. However, in recent years she has developed an original approach to the technique of palette knife.
